On December 19, 2010 at 4:23 PM, the Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in St. Mary’s County for the ambulance on fire. Engine 22(McPherson) responded at dispatch with a crew of four and arrived to find an ambulance with fire in the engine compartment. Engine 22’s crew and Mechanicsville Engine 23’s crew made quick work of the fire and returned to service after approximately 20 minutes.
