Mechanicsville House Fire

On December 21st at approximately 0043 hours, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to Donna Drive in Mechanicsville, St Mary’s County, for the house fire. Engine 22, Tanker 2 and Chief 2B responded.
St Mary’s Engine 23 arrived and located a single family home with fire through out the garage extending into the house. Engine 22 arrived moments later and picked up the supply line. Engine 22’s crew pulled a second attack line and entered the structure to assist with extinguishing the fire. Members from both departments, as well as other responding departments, worked for approximately 40 minutes before the fire was brought under control. Once the fire was extinguished Engine 22 assisted with salvage and overhaul before being released from the scene.
Engine 22, Tanker 2 and Chief 2B operated for approximately 3 hours before being released.
