Motor Vehicle Collision Involving a Train

On Friday August 21st at 3:05 PM, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to Gallant Ln and Gallant Green Road for a motor vehicle collision involving a train. Chief 2A, Squad 2, Engine 22, Duty 2 and Paramedic Ambulance 28 responded. Units arrived on scene to find a freight train struck a concrete mixer as it was crossing the rail road tracks. Units mitigated leaking vehicle fluids from the concrete mixer and the train was determined to have no hazards. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision. Units turned the scene over to the Sheriff’s Office and CSX to handle the investigation.
