Mechanicsville House Fire
By Safety Officer Brad Saunders
January 20, 2026
On January 20th at approximately 11:36 am, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to the 39000 block of Clooney Neck Road for the structure fire. Engine Tanker 2, Tanker 2 and Chief 2A made the response. Mechanicsville Volunteers arrived on scene to find a one story single family home with fire showing. Hughesville Units arrived a short time later and assisted with extinguishing. Tanker 2 assisted with water supply operations. Units operated on the scene for nearly two hours before being released.
We would also like to thank Prince Frederick Engine 22, from Calvert County, for filling in at our station while units operated.
