On June 2nd at approximately 8pm, Hughesville Volunteers and surrounding departments were alerted to the 6900 Block of Bucktown Court for the house fire. Engine Tanker 2, Tanker 2, Squad 2 and Chief 2 responded. Engine Tanker 2 arrived the find a two-story single-family home with fire through the roof. Units discovered an exterior fire that extended into the residence. Units swept the exterior before making entry and extinguishing the fire. During efforts, part of the roof collapsed. Crews adjusted the attack strategies and brought the fire under control within 30 minutes. Units remained on scene conducting extensive overhaul. In all, Hughesville Units operated for approximately 3 hours.

During the call, Hughesville Volunteers staffed engine 22 for calls in our first due, along with fill in crews of Engine 91 (Indian Head) and Engine 82 (Marbury).
