On January 14th at approximately 0530 hours, Hughesville Volunteers and surrounding departments were alerted to Leonardtown Road and Gallant Green Road for the Motor Vehicle Collision with subjects trapped. Engine 22, Chief 2, Chief 2B, Brush 2 and Paramedic Ambulance 28 made the response. While responding, communications advised all occupants were now reported out of the vehicles. Units arrived on the scene and confirmed no entrapment and Chief 2 scaled the assignment back to Company 2 units only. Engine 22 and Brush 2 secured the vehicle and removed debris from the roadway to open up a lane of travel for the morning rush hour. Two patients were transported by ground to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. Company 2 units operated on the scene for approximately 45 minutes before turning the scene over to Law Enforcement.
