On May 20th at approximately 2:51 PM, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to the 30000 block of Three Notch Road in St Mary's County for the Motor Vehicle Collision with one trapped and possibly on fire. Squad 2 and Paramedic Ambulance 27 made the response. Units arrived on the scene to find a multi-vehicle collision with one vehicle overturned in the roadway and one subject trapped in another vehicle. In total five vehicles were involved in the collision, and no vehicles were on fire. Squad 2 stabilized the vehicle and began extrication. St Mary's Squad 2 (Mechanicsville) arrived on the scene and assisted with the extrication. Units removed the driver's side of the vehicle and the patient was removed. The patient was treated by EMS and transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Trooper 7 handled the transport of one patient from the collision scene while all other patients were transported by ground.
