On September 22nd at approximately 5:41am, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to the 8100 block of Old Leonardtown Road for the Subject Not Breathing. Engine 22, Paramedic Ambulance 28 and Battalion Chief 2C responded. While responding units were advised it was a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and the pedestrian was not breathing. Engine 22 arrived on scene to find a single vehicle struck a pedestrian, with the pedestrian in the roadway not breathing. Paramedic Ambulance 28 arrived moments later and quickly evaluated the pedestrian and determined they were deceased. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. The scene was turned over to Maryland State Police and the Charles County Sheriffs Office to handle the investigation.

Hughesville Volunteers would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
