Barn Fire

On July 16th at approximately 0251 hours, Hughesville Volunteers and surrounding departments were alerted to the 7000 block of Leonardtown Road for the barn fire. Engine Tanker 2, Tanker 2 and Chief 2 responded. Units arrived on scene to find an approximately 400x200 horse stable with fire throughout. A defensive fire attack was utilized until a ladder pipe operation could be established. Two ladder trucks were utilized to extinguish the fire.

In all 11 tankers were utilized to keep a continuous supply of water for the fire ground. During the operation Leonardtown Road was closed. Units operated on scene for approximately four and a half hours before clearing.
