Structure Fire Multi Family

On June 2, 2020 at approximately 12:13am, Rescue Squad 2 from the Hughesville Vol. Fire Department was dispatched to 2069 Tanglewood Drive in Waldorf for a reported House Fire. While responding to the call , Engine 31 from the Waldorf Vol. Fire Department arrived on scene with "fire showing". Rescue Squad 2 arrived on scene several minutes later with heavy fire conditions coming from the rear of the dwelling. While attacking the heavy fire conditions, two firefighters were injured. A second alarm was dispatched and those units staged in the nearby Lowe's parking lot. One of the injured firefighters was treated on scene, and the second firefighter was transported to Washington Hospital Burn Unit for non life threatening injuries. Members from Rescue Squad 2 assisted with search and rescue as well as ventilation. The fire extended into several townhouse units, displacing multiple families.
