Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By Safety Officer Brad Saunders
November 1, 2024

Effective immediately, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources has implemented a state wide burn ban for open air burning.

Dry condition persist across the state which has resulted in higher than normal wildfires. The ban will remain in effect until the precipitation improves and Forestry Service determines the threat of wildfires has improved.

Please refrain from any open air burning for your safety and the safety of your neighbors. The Maryland Forest Service will be investigating those caught burning during the burn ban for any potential legal action.

If you have any questions about the ban please contact the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
