On November 21st at approximately 1530 hours, Hughesville Volunteers and surrounding departments were alerted to the 4800 block of Young Road for the house fire. Engine Tanker 2, Tanker 2, Engine 22, Squad 2, Chief 2, Chief 2A, Battalion Chief 2C and Paramedic Ambulance 27 responded. Engine Tanker 2 arrived on scene with smoke showing from the garage and front door. Units located a small fire in the garage which was quickly extinguished. The smoke conditions in the house were mitigated allowing Command to reduce the assignment to the units from Hughesville and Waldorf Tower 3.
