By Safety Officer Brad Saunders
August 4, 2023

On August 4th just prior to 1AM, Hughesville Volunteers and surrounding departments were alerted to Luke’s Lane in Hughesville for the shed fire. Engine 22, Tanker 2 and battalion chief 2C responded. Engine 22 arrives on scene to find an approximately 10x10 shed with fire through the roof. The crew quickly extinguished the fire. Battalion Chief 2C held the command and scaled the assignment back to the units from Hughesville and Mechanicsville Squad 2, and requested assistance from the State Fire Marshal’s Office. Units operated on the scene for approximately 2 hours.

We would also like to thank Benedict Engine 51 for filling in for us while units operated on the scene.

Units: Engine 22, Tanker 2, Battalion 2C

Mutual Aid: Mechanicsville Squad 2
