Auto Accident with one trapped

On 05-26-10 at 4:21PM units from Hughesville Fire and EMS and surrounding companies were alerted to Rt.5 at Gallant Green Road for the auto accident with injuries and people trapped. Squad 2 (Eckstein) and Paramedic Ambulance 28 responded at dispatch with 9 personnel. Units arrived to find a three vehicle accident with one person trapped. Engine 22 arrived next with an additional 3 personnel and assisted with the extrication. The patient was extricated and a medevac helicopter was requested due to his injuries. Maryland State Police Trooper 7 responded and landed in a field across from the accident scene. One patient was medevaced to an area trauma center, one patient was transported by ground to a local hospital and one patient refused transport. Units cleared at 5:26PM.
