HVFD, you guys are the best of all time! You all are such a great team together. You might have your ups and downs sometimes but when it comes to a fire call, you guys act like it never happend and do what you love to do. You all that volunteer there, make me want to join the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department and next year, thats what I'm going to do. Every Monday, you guys have drills and that shows that you all try to become better at what you do and you take pride in what you do. You all really must love this job because its not a easy one to volunteer for, you must have alot of heart towards firefighting or ems. This is the best Fire Department ever, Laplata, and Baden don't even come close. I'm glad that I know all of you all cause you are some great people. Don't anybody ever change, you all are very important to other peoples lives. You save other people and thats a very brave thing to do. Goof Jr.- you been great to me and have always helped me out, thanks. Well, keep up all the good work and see yall soon. Love you all like a fat kid loves cake. Holla!!!

Loved your site-keep up the good work! Have to give a shout out to my favorite step-nephew, Brad Saunders, a big "Hey You" from the beautiful Shenandoah Valley! Love ya'lls color scheme, had to look twice- thought that was good ol' Indian Head's engine - I grew up at Station 9. I started out on 9's blue and white (icecream truck colored) ambulance way back in 1983. See great minds do think alike ! You guys have grown so much out there, its awsome. Keep it up & Best of Luck !!!!

I ran across this site looking for something totally different. I just want you to know that we, the public, greatly appreciate the job that you do. I am a 911 dispatcher and a former EMT, so I know what kind of person it takes to do what you all do. Sitting behind a console is a hard job but being in the field is even harder. I commend all of the people who are willing to give up their time to help "us" save another life. Thank you!

We'd like to communicate an expression of gratitude and praise for each
and every one associated within your organization who selflessly gives 24-7 (just about ALL volunteer, yes?!?) to the communities who TOTALLY depend on the commitment and diligence of the fire and rescue workers to respond to each crisis in need. Your professionalism has been frequently witnessed by members of this writer's family and needs to be commended once again.

The bonding and sense of 'family' within the department (even with
the diversity of occupations and individual status') has proven to be a strength and complement in your ability to serving others, together, in our community.

We lift you all in our prayers for strength and sufficient rest and safety in your sacrificial endeavors.

With humble appreciation to the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Dept. and EMS Division... from a community family

When my neighbor's sheid was struck by lightning and caught fire and Hughesville ran the call with the help of baden and mechanicsville it looked to me that not only were they great at putting out the fire but they also knew what they were supposed to do and when to do it. And they were well organized, they knew where all the tools were that were needed to control the fire and move object out the way and they were not messey at the end of moveing all the burned eleletical equipment that was in the sheid off to the side. Well all i can say is keep up the great work.
