Fatal Accident near Benedict Bridge

At approximately 1135hrs Station 2 units were dispatched to respond mutual aid to the area of the Benedict Bridge for the multiple vehicle accident with entrapment. Squad 2, Chief 2B Mercure, and Paramedic Ambulance 27 responded at dispatch. First arriving Ambulance 58 reported a multiple vehicle accident with multiple entrapments and two confirmed Priority 4 patients. Chief 2B established the Prince Frederick Rd Command upon arrival and upgraded the assignment. This brought additional units from the Tri-County region. Due to the weather conditions MSP Medevac Helicopters were down. However, Air Rescue from Naval Air Station Patuxent River was able to make a transport, with a DES Paramedic aboard to a Trauma Center.
