Back-to-back shed fires |

| On March 9th at approximately 12:05 pm, Squad 2 and Tanker 2 were alerted to the 38000 block of Mount Wolf Road in St Mary's County for a brush fire. Chief 2, Chief 2B, Squad 2 and Tanker 2 made the response. Chief 2 arrived on scene first to find a brush fire that had extended to a 12' x 20' shed. Moments later, Squad 2 arrived and pulled a cross lay line to begin extinguishing the shed. Within minutes, St. Mary's (SM) Brush 2 and SM Tanker 2 arrived on scene. SM Brush 2 went to work assisting with extinguishment while SM Tanker 2 supplied water. SM Engine Tanker 2 arrived and pulled an additional hand line to assist with extinguishment. The fire was quickly brought under control within ten minutes. Units conducted salvage and overhaul of the shed, while continuing to address "hot spots" from the brush fire. Units operated on the scene for approximately an hour before returning to service. Chief 2 held the command. At approximately 2:10 pm, Tanker 2, Engine Tanker 2 and Engine 22 responded to the 23000 block of Christ Church Road in Prince George's County for the reported shed fire. Engine Tanker 836 and Brush 836 arrived on scene to find an approximately 20' x 30' shed and surrounding brush involved with fire. Tanker 2 arrived on scene and supplied Engine Tanker 836 with water. The crews from Engine 22, Engine Tanker 2 and Tanker 2 assisted with extinguishment of the fire and overhaul of the shed. Units operated on the scene for just over an hour before being placed in service. Battalion Chief 887 held the command. |
