On Friday January 3rd at approximately 807PM, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to the 23000 Block of Aquasco Road in PG County for the Motor Vehicle Collision. Chief 2B, Squad 2, and Paramedic Ambulance 28 responded. While responding the assignment was upgraded to subjects trapped. Units arrived on scene to find a two-vehicle collision with two subjects trapped, one in each vehicle. Squad 2 quickly stabilized both vehicles and began extrication. Based on the injuries one of the drivers received, a helicopter was requested. Hughesville Engine 22 was alerted to handle the landing zone. Squad 2’s crew was able to extricate both subjects in approximately 15 minutes and turn the patients over to awaiting EMS units. Both subjects were transported to area hospitals, one by MSP Aviation Command and the second by PG Ambulance 836. Chief 2B held the command and units operated for approximately 1 hour. Hughesville Volunteers would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of those affected by the tragedy. |
