Crash with people trapped

On October 8th at 6:09 am, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to Mechanicsville's first due in St. Mary’s County for the crash with people trapped. Squad 2 and Paramedic Ambulance 27 responded. While enroute, St. Mary’s Squad 2 arrived to find a two vehicle collision with one person trapped. Squad 2 arrived a short time later as the extrication was concluding and assisted with moving the patient to a near by ambulance. Squad 2 was released from the scene and assisted with the landing site for a helicopter. It was determined aviation transportation was unavailable due to weather conditions. Mechanicsville Rescue Squad, with the assistance Paramedic Ambulance 27, transported the victim to a local trauma center for treatment.
