Fatal Collision

On April 13th at midnight, Hughesville Volunteers along with Waldorf VFD and the North Medical Duty Officer were alerted to Leonardtown Road and Wolfe Drive, in Hughesville for the motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Battalion 2C, Squad 2, Engine 22, EMS Chief 2A and paramedic ambulance 27 made the response. Squad 2 and PA27 arrived on scene to find a pedestrian struck. Battalion 2C arrived moments later and established command. Units quickly assessed the pedestrian and pronounced him deceased. EMS Chief 2A assessed the driver of the striking vehicle and determined no EMS services were needed. Units turned the scene over to Maryland State Police for investigation and requested the light unit from the Charles County Department of Emergency Services to illuminate the scene for collision reconstruction. Units operated on the scene for approximately 35 minutes.
