On January 1st at 816AM, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to Leonardtown Road on the Hughesville Bypass for the motor vehicle collision with one vehicle overturned. Squad 2, Engine 22, Battalion 2C and Paramedic Ambulance 28 responded. Squad 2 arrived to find a single vehicle collision. The vehicle was located overturned approximately 150 feet off the roadway, over a guardrail, and down an embankment. The crew quickly accessed the vehicle and determined both occupants self extricated from the vehicle. The occupants were assisted to the roadway where they were transported by Paramedic Ambulance 28 to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. The scene was turned over to Maryland State Police for investigation.
