On September 8th just prior to 2pm, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted for mutual aid to St Marys County for a structure fire. Engine 22 responded to South Earnshaw Way. Volunteers from Mechanicsville VFD were first arriving and reported smoke showing from all 4 sides with a working basement fire. St. Mary's Chief 2 held the command. Engine 22 arrived on scene as the fire was deemed under control and assisted with salvage and overhaul. Engine 22 operated for approximately 90 minutes before being released.
