Extrication Collision

On November 22nd at approximately 4:18 PM, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to Budds Creek Rd and Marsh Rd in Dentsville for the motor vehicle collision involving a dump truck. Chief 2 and Squad 2 made the response. Units arrived on scene to find a two vehicle off set head on collision with one person trapped. Squad 2 arrived on scene and began extrication of the trapped subject with the assistance of Newburg and Bel Alton Volunteers. Units began to remove the drivers door and rolled the dash. During extrication, Mechanicsville Squad 2 arrived and assisted. After the extrication was complete, the patient was turned over to awaiting EMS Units. Based on the occupants injuries, a helicopter was requested to transport the victim to a trauma center. Trooper 2 responded and landed nearby to complete the transport. Mechanicsville Volunteers provided an Engine for the landing site.
