On August 4th at approximately 0526 hours, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted for a stabbing. Engine 24, Paramedic Ambulance 28 and Command 2 responded. Units arrived to find a male patient with multiple injuries after being attacked. Paramedic Ambulance 28 requested a helicopter to transport the victim to an area trauma center.

Engine Tanker 2 responded to the SMECO landing pad and set up a landing site for Maryland State Police Trooper 2. Trooper 2 landed and picked up the victim who was flown to an area Trauma Center.
