On July 22nd, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to the 8400 block of Dartrey Pl in Dentsville for a structure fire. Engine 22, Engine/Tanker 2, Engine 24 and Chief 2A responded. Dentsville Engine 151, La Plata Engine 12 and Engine/Tanker 2 arrived at the same time to find a two story single family home with smoke showing. Engine 151 and Engine 12’s crew made entry with the initial attack line while the crew from Engine/Tanker 2 pulled a second attack line and went to the second floor. Units discovered a lawn mower on fire in the garage with no extension into the living area of the house. Units quickly extinguished the fire and evacuated smoke from the residence.

Units operated on the scene for approximately 30-45 minutes before clearing.
