On February 8th at 1141 PM, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to 37000 block of Carpenter Lane (Charlotte Hall Metal and Scrap) in Mechanicsville for a structure fire. Engine Tanker 2 and Engine 22 responded. Engine Tanker 2 arrived on scene to find a working fire but was unable to immediately gain access. After forcing entry to the scrap yard, Engine Tanker 2 found multiple auto’s and part of the fence on fire. Engine Tanker 2, Mechanicsville Engine 23, Mechanicsville Squad 2 worked quickly to extinguish the fire.
