On January 31st, our area went under a snow emergency plan due to inclement weather. Over the last 24 hours, Hughesville Volunteers have remained available and have staffed multiple peices of apparatus at our station. We have handled 18 emergency calls for service to include motor vehicle collisions, a burn victim, an animal rescue and numerous medical emergencies. During the course of the day, we have maintained multiple crews to assist any emergencies that may arise.

Please remember to drive safely if you must leave as roadways will freeze, and refreeze over the next several days. If you don’t need to leave, please stay home and allow road crews and your first responders to continue serving our community.

Those wishing to join our efforts may contact the station via telephone, or stop by when it is safe to do so and request an application. We have a spot for all members of our community, whether it be operational or administrative.
