On August 12, 2020 at approximately 7:05pm, Charles County Communications alerted the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department for a Motor Vehicle Collision with a rollover and possibly one ejection. Rescue Squad 2, Chief 2, Volunteer Ambulance 27 and Paramedic Ambulance 28 resonded quickly after being dispatched. While units were enroute, Charles County Communications advised the driver may have possibly fled the scene. Units from Hughesville arrived on scene and quickly assessed the vehicle for any other patients, but did not locate any additional occupants. The vehicle did strike a utility pole and landed approximately 40 feet from the pole. The utility pole sustained major damage and SMECO was notified. The Charles County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene for traffic control and all units from Hughesville were place in service.
