No Caption Rural water supply training

Engineer Brad Saunders, November 20

On November 20th and 21st, members from Hughesville VFD joined with members of Mechanicsville, La Plata, Leonardtown, Huntingtown and Hollywood VFD to conduct training in rural water supply. The class was hosted by The Water Thieves. The 2 day course was an intense fast pace course with members drafting water from ponds and portable water tanks utilized on fire grounds. Working Fire St Mary’s County

Engineer Brad Saunders, November 16

On November 12th at 932PM Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to Loveville Road in St. Mary’s County for the working commercial building fire. Squad 2 and Tanker 2 responded. Units arrived on scene and assisted with various tasks around the fire ground.

Working Fire

Engineer Brad Saunders, November 16

On November 16th at 0135 hours, Squad 2 responded to the 1000 Block of Bannister Circle in Waldorf for the house fire. Waldorf Volunteers arrived on scene and located a working fire. On October 10th at 7:59 AM, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to Poplar Hill Road and Zeemar Pl, in Waldorf, for the motor vehicle crash with subjects trapped. Squad 2 responded to the scene. While responding, Waldorf VFD arrived on scene to find a single vehicle collision with people trapped. Squad 2 arrived on scene and immediately went to work assisting Waldorf.
